IRENE ELIZABETH O’BRIEN

Irene Elizabeth O’Brien, 98, of Masontown, PA passed away December 25, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Masontown, PA. on February 14, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Emma (Shoaf) O’Brien.

Irene graduated from Seaton Hill University with a BS in Education & West Virginia University with a Masters Degree in Education. Before retiring, she was employed as a Teacher at North Connellsville Votech School. Irene was a Charter member of Soroptimist International and a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Masontown, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters: Ann Louise Donovan and Mary Catherine O’Brien and brothers: John O’Brien and Phillip O’Brien. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by her nephew and caretaker Michael Donovan.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, PA with Farther Marlon Pates as Celebrant.
