Masontown, PA Gerald Ray “Jerry” Solomon, II, 54, of Masontown, PA. passed away January 28, 2024 at home. He was born in Waynesburg, PA. on March 13, 1969, the son of Gerald R. and Rita M. (Perkosky) Solomon. Jerry was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School Class of 1987 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from California University of Pennsylvania. He was employed at Penn Development Service as a Construction Supervisor and was a lifetime member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish of Masontown, PA. He enjoyed many sports, especially watching the University of Pittsburgh football and basketball teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. Jerry was predeceased by his grandparents: George A. and Julia J. Solomon and Chester and Julia Perkosky. In addition to his parents, Gerald R. and Rita M. Solomon, he is survived by his daughter, Sophia Juliette Rose Solomon; brother, George R. Solomon; Uncle Gary and Aunt Renee Proden; Uncle Richard C. Perkosky and Uncle Jan and Aunt Fayann Kikta; niece Julia Kikta; nephew George Julian Solomon and numerous cousins and friends. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, especially Brian Barnhart, for the care given to Jerry. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
