JAMES EDWARD ELLIS

James Edward Ellis, 89, of McClellandtown, PA. passed away October 19, 2024 at his residence.

He was born in Uniontown, PA on June 16, 1935, the son of the late John and Mary (Chapley) Ellis. James graduated from Georges Township High School, Class of 1953 and joined the United States Marines. After leaving the service he worked for Collier Construction as a Construction Lineman for 40 years.

James is survived by his wife, Laura (Mick) Ellis; son James Ellis, Jr. and wife Paula of Pickerington, Ohio and daughter Monica Dues and husband Fred of Uniontown, Pa; grandchildren: Rob, Troy, Gianna, Aimee, Jamar and Tanisha; great grandchildren: Lily, Johnathan, Brynn, Scarlett, Anakin, Cillian, Jadyn and Bella.

James was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Masontown, PA and the Holy Name Society.

Family and friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA on Monday, October 21, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said in the Funeral Home Chapel followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, PA. with Fr. Robert Smith as Celebrant. Internment with military rites by Masontown American Legion Post 423 and VFW Post 4584 follows at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Leckrone, PA.
