Today, with heavy hearts, we must announce the death of Edward Raymond Sierzega. Eddie passed away in his home in Hamilton, VA. on April 13, 2025. He was born on July 10, 1966 in Masontown, PA, the son of the late Thomas and Marie (Hlatky) Sierzega. Eddie was the widow of the late Mary Lou (Tedesco) Sierzega; and is survived by his children: Jayden Eric, twin sons Tyler Edward and Zachary Thomas and Ainsley Marielle; his siblings: Louise (Sierzega) Geary, Thomas Sierzega, Vivian Sierzega-Rouse and Carl Sierzega and many nieces and nephews.

Ed graduated from Albert Gallatin High School and received a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and his master’s degree from Case Western Reserve. Ed had a successful career in tax accounting up until his passing. He loved sports and was a firm supporter of WVU teams and the Pittsburgh Steelers/Pirates. Ed was an industrious gardener. He planted and nursed a large number of fruit trees, berries, grapevines, tomatoes, and, of course, Hungarian hot wax peppers. However, Ed’s true passion was his loving family!

Funeral Services will be held at the John S. Maykuth, Jr. Funeral Home, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA. Friends and family will be received on Monday 21st April from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home chapel at 9:30 on Tuesday 22nd April, followed by a Funeral Mass at St Francis of Assisi, 101 W Church Ave, Masontown, PA and the procession to St. Agnes Cemetery for prayers and internment to immediately follow.
