JOHN (JACK) WEIR NICHOLS John (Jack) Weir Nichols, 89, passed away peacefully at home in Uniontown, PA on September 28, 2022. He was born in Taylor, Lackawanna County, PA on February 3, 1933 the son of the late Joseph Griffith Nichols and Helen Weir Nichols. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joseph G. Nichols and sisters; Alice Young and Lila Nichols. Jack had fond memories of West Chester Borough, especially Riggtown and Nields Street. Jack leaves behind his long time significant love, Anna Miscovich of Uniontown, PA; sister Helen (Mickey) Jensen of Naples, Florida and nieces and nephews in the Chester County area. He attended West Chester Teachers College, where he received his BS & Masters Degrees in Teaching. Jack taught Social Studies and European History at Henderson High School, West Chester until retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Germany and later his homeland in the Army Reserves, from August 1958 to November 1962. Jack enjoyed fishing in many areas along the east coast; Delaware and Chesapeake Bays, Canada, Nova Scotia, Venezuela and Baja, Mexica. He also enjoyed traveling with Anna to Russia, Greece, Hong Kong, Venezuela, Nova Scotia and Balta Mexico. When Jack was not pursuing his fishing and traveling trips, he would spend many hours doing carpentry around Chester County. He was a master in building houses and could be found in his shop making furniture. Services for Jack will be private. Any donations in John Nichols name can be made to any SPCA.
