BERNARD JOSEPH JAMES, Jr.

Bernard Joseph James, Jr., 85, of Masontown, PA., passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.

He was born in Leckrone, PA on October 28, 1940, the son of the late Bernard and Helen (Walczy) James. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Lawrence “Larry” James, sisters: Marie Dice and Margaret “Margie” Wontrobae.

Bernard joined the Marines after graduating from German Township High School and worked for many years at a Suit Factory in Mt. Pleasant, PA. He was a member of Pal’s Club and for many years he was a coach for Leckrone Baseball Team.

He is survived by his wife Beverly Jane Burrie James and sisters: Janet M. Kemerer and husband Willliam of Leckrone and Patricia Ann James of Leckrone, PA. and brothers: William James and wife Barbara of Pt. Marion, PA; Robert M. James of Illinois; David James and wife Paula of Illinois and Ronald F. James and wife Linda of Masontown, PA.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home, Masontown, PA.
