CHARLES LIPTOCK
Charles Liptock, 96, of Masontown, PA passed away in Mount Macrina Manor on August 30, 2025.
He was born on December 20, 1928 in Parshall (McClellandtown) PA to the late John and Barbara (Gembier) Liptock.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Rose (Mehal) Liptock, his daughter-in-law Carol Liptock, his son-in law Ronald Joseph and siblings: Julia (Kovach), Steve, John, Andy, Mary (Trupkovich) George, Joe and Frank.
Surviving are daughters Cynthia (Gene) Beattie of Washington, PA and Susan Joseph of Masontown, PA and sons Charles Liptock of Lemon Furnace, PA and Steven Liptock of Masontown, PA and five
grandchildren.
In 1946, at the age of 17, Charles enlisted in the US Army. He was assigned to the W.W.II
Occupation Force and stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany. Upon returning to the states he met Rose Mehal. While they were dating he was recalled to active duty and sent to Korea in 1950. In December of that year he was severely wounded in his left leg. The injury earned him the Purple Heart.
After a long hospital stay he and Rose were married on August 8, 1953.
Charles was employed by Rossini Motors and Klondike Tire & Rubber until his retirement.
He enjoyed planting his vegetable garden every year, playing cards and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.
His family wishes to thank all the staff at Mount Macrina Manor for not only providing expert medical care but for also making him feel like a friend instead of a resident.
Also his family would like to thank all the staff of Amedisys (especially Betty) for the extra special care and comfort they provided.
Family and friends will be received at the John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home, Masontown, PA
on Wednesday, September 3rd from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. and Thursday, September 4th from
9 – 9:30 a.m. Prayer Service in the funeral home chapel followed by Mass of Christian Burial
at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Masontown, PA. Interment follows in St. Mary’s Cemetery,
Leckrone, PA. Military Rites will be accorded by the Masontown American Legion Post 423 and
Masontown VFW Post 4584
