CLARA K. (KIFER) PENTO

Clara K (Kifer) Pento, 88, formerly of Masontown, PA passed away peacefully on July 4th 2025 in Haven Crest Care Center, Monongahela, PA. She was born on March 21st 1937 in Superior PA, daughter of the late Anna (Shaffer) and Clyde Kifer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert E. Pento in 2009. She was the last surviving of 8 other siblings, brothers Cecil, George and Frank Kifer and sisters Carrie Martin, Betty Martin, Virginia DeRosa, Janet Gawczynski and Louise Cornish. Clara’s Mother passed away when Clara was only 4 so she was raised by her older siblings; especially Betty with whom she was very close. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Clara was a longtime member of The Masontown First Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir for many years along with her Husband She was a licensed insurance agent and a longtime tax preparer. Clara and Bob were the proprietors of Nationwide Insurance Agency in Masontown for many years. She loved Masontown and was involved enthusiastically in the local historical society. She loved to read. She traced her family history back to the 1700’s.

She was a great dancer in her younger years. She was devoted to her family. She loved our Dachshunds. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Corrina Blystone and husband Kent and Robert Pento and wife Jill and 3 grandchildren, Kyle and Zachary Blystone and Jacqueline Pento and a great-granddaughter, Elianna.
