DORIS ELAINE WOLFF

Doris Elaine (Gray) Wolff, 91, of Woodside, PA passed away February 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Doris was born on March 6, 1933 in Masontown, PA, to the late Harry N. and Martha E. (Rockwell) Gray. Doris was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She graduated from German Township HS, Class of 1952 and moved to Chicago, IL where she met and married her former husband, the late Lawrence T. Wolff with whom she had five children: Daniel T. Wolff, the late Colleen K. (Wolff) Kraus, Karen A. Wolff-Smith, Laurie B. (Wolff) Siebert and Philip J. Wolff.

While raising her children in Chicago, Doris worked as an insurance clerk and was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church where she worked part-time in the school office and was a member of the Holy Rosary Society.

In 1976 the family returned to Doris’ hometown where she was a member of the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, as well as a member of the Christian Mothers, St. Mary’s Prayer Group and Amvets of Hopwood.

In addition to her four surviving children, left to cherish her memory are four grandchildren – Lawrence Wolff, Jennifer (King) Tkacik, Annie Laurie Smith and Dylan T. Siebert, three great grandchildren – Alissha M., Ettie E. and Amber N. Wolff, and one great great grandchild Azariah Brown.

Doris enjoyed music, hosting family gatherings, baking and decorating cakes, taking family photos, and writing poetry. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend, known for her sharp wit and creativity.

Private family services and burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the John S. Maykuth, Jr. Funeral Home.
