JAMES DANIEL BENFORD

James Daniel Benford, 79, of Chestnut Ridge, PA, passed away Friday, November 7th, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W VA.

He was born in Masontown, PA. on January 21, 1946, the son of the late James Franklin and Anna Marie (Cozard) Benford. James was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Before retiring he was employed as a Tour Bus Driver at TA Nelson Connellsville, PA. He was a former member of Masontown, Smithfield and Fairchance Volunteer Fire Departments.

James is survived by his husband Earl Maust, daughters: Lisa Gasper and Arlene Hagner; his son James Daniel, Jr., 4 grandchildren: Shelby, Kevin, Alyssa and Kelsey; 3 great grandchildren: Jace, Kali and Rylin.

Family and friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Ave., Masontown, PA. Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 2 to 6 p.m. the hour of service in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Laura Blank officiating.

Interment private.
