JUDITH ANN COLEBANK BOGOZI

Judith Ann Colebank Bogozi, 78 of Masontown, PA went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2025 with her loving family by her side.

Judy was born at home on February 8, 1947 in Point Marion to Edward and Opal Colebank, She was a 1965 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School where she paraded around as a majorette.

Judy earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Masters Degree in Education from California University of Pennsylvania and went on to educate hundreds of children in the Albert Gallatin Area School District for 35 years.

Judy, or “Mrs. B” as her students affectionately called her, had an uncanny ability to ignite a passion for learning. She has been known to do cart wheels, tap dance, and even stand on her head to keep the energy and attention alive in her classroom. Judy dedicated her life to education and she cared deeply for every child that walked in her room.

After retirement, Judy stayed active in the community as a teacher for the preschool library program and German Masontown Library with her friend Donna Parish. She served as The Treasurer for Friends of the Library for many years and could always be found at the Fish Fry’s with the Knights of Columbus in Masontown.

Judy was a devout Catholic and loved the Lord her Savior deeply. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, Collection Counter and a member of St. Francis Assisi Christian Mothers.

Judy married the love of her life Joseph Bogozi on November 9, 1968. The two of them loved to dance, play games, like Scrabble and Yahtzee and donated to the local casinos on many occasions. Their love is a testament to commitment, respect and steadfast love,

Judy is predeceased by her parents, Edward Earl and Opal Colebank Porter, her step dad, Edward Porter, her brothers Edward Colebank, David Colebank and an infant brother that passed at birth.

She is survived by her loving spouse of 56 years, Joseph Bogozi, her daughter Lori Bogozi, son Brian (BJ) Bogozi and wife Kristie. Her beloved grandchildren Vincent (Vinny) DelSignore (fiancé Alexandria), Cole Bogozi and Paige Bogozi (Bryce). Also surviving are her in-laws, Judy Davis, David and Nan Bogozi, Betty Ann Colebank and numerous nieces and nephews. Judy was blessed with special friends, Becky Egidi and Jeanne Beatty.

Judy will be remember fondly for her fierce personality, generous heart and loving ways. She was the rock of her family and will be missed greatly.

Family and friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR. FUNERAL HOME, Masontown, PA on Tuesday, April 29th from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, April 30th Prayer Service at 9:30 a.m.
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi, Masontown, PA.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the German Masontown Library or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
