MICHELINE RITA VARGO

Micheline Rita Vargo, 81, of Masontown, PA passed away at Uniontown Hospital on July 1, 2025 with her family by her side.

She was born in Herbert, PA. on August 19, 1943, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kasun) Rates. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers: Ronald Rates and Richard Rates. Micheline was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Micheline was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School Class of 1961. She enjoyed traveling, playing the slots and watching “Hallmark” movies.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband George W. Vargo and children: Melissa Polosky and husband John of Bethel Park, PA; Lynn Westfall and husband Brad of North Strabane, PA; and grandsons who she loved and adored: Andrew, Jeremy, Noah and Blake.

Family and friends will be received in the John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home, Masontown, PA on Monday, July 7th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 8th at 9:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel followed by Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Parish at 10 a.m. Commttal Service at 1:30 p.m. at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
