Ronald was born on October 18, 1940. He was born in Uniontown, PA and grew up and spent his entire life residing in Nicholson Township (Woodside), Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He was a 1958 graduate of Masontown Highschool where he participated in football and band and participated in 4H. He cherished his clarinet and shared the love music with his family.

Some of his greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren. He took an active role by creating memories on family trips, hay wagon rides, bowling, golf, croquet, football, basketball, softball, cards, board games and sharing his love of caring for farm animals. He attended and supported all his grandchildren’s activities and special events.

Ronald had many professions throughout his life. He was first a Dairy Farmer on his family farm; he was a PIAA official for 36 years and referee for football & basketball and umpired softball & baseball. He sold Fire & Homeowners Grange Insurance, Nicholson Township Supervisor for 6 years, and was a school bus driver for over 18 years. He loved to tinker around in the barn, on the tractor and keeping busy with farm work and caring for his many animals. He took pride in his lifelong Lionel train collection. He loved to travel; sight see and visit historical sites. He loved driving and never turned down a good road trip. He was an avid sports fan especially with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and WVU Football.

He had a very strong work ethic, family values and was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his kindness, warmth and love for life. Ron made hard work fun by always putting a positive spin on things. Ronald always made time for others and everywhere he went, he was a familiar face. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to WVU Home Health and Hospice Care and our family, friends and neighbors for who were there to support Ron.
