Dr. William Paul “Bill” Balaz Jr, D.C., 71, of Masontown, PA passed away on
June 12, 2025, at Hillside Manor, Uniontown, PA.
He was born in Brownsville, PA on April 2, 1954, the son of the late Bill and Grace
(Santoro) Balaz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother,
John Balaz.
William was a 1972 Albert Gallatin High School graduate and served honorably in the
U.S. Air Force. He earned a BS Degree in Biology from California University (1990) and
a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Logan University, Chesterfield MO (1994). He
was a skilled chiropractor, helping many overcome pain and disability and continued to
practice up until a few months before his death.
William was an active member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Masontown and a
volunteer at the Masontown First Presbyterian Church Community Kitchen and Food Bank.
Bill will be remembered as a good friend who was always willing to share his time and
talents with others.
He is survived by his sister Mary Ann (John) Hannigan of Troy, Michigan, sister-in-law
Renee Balaz of Uniontown; nephews Daniel (Mary) Hannigan and Dylan Hannigan, and
nieces Diane Hannigan, Brittanny (Ryan) Jerico, and Brianna Balaz.
Family and friends will be received at the John S. Maykuth, Jr. Funeral Home,
Masontown, PA on Sunday, June 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and on Monday,
June 16 at 9:30 a.m. for a prayer service, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi parish, Masontown, PA.
William will be interred at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of William can be made to St. Francis of
Assisi Parish or the Masontown First Presbyterian Church’s Community Kitchen and
Food Bank.
