Aaron C. Cottrell, Sr., 32, of Scottdale, PA passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 suddenly while outdoors pruning trees.
He was born in Uniontown, PA. on September 23, 1993, the son of Marty Dodson and Mary Gump of Scottdale, PA.
Aaron enjoyed fishing, hunting, picking mushrooms, and being outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sons: Aaron C. Cottrell, Jr. of New Salem, PA and Kaydence Truely of Masontown, PA; his stepfather Robert Mark Gump; sister Carla Cottrell and brother’s Troy Cottrell and Patrick Murphy, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; grandmother Orpha “Sue” Harker of McClellandtown, PA.
Special friends Joann Broadwater and Tanya & Boo of Masontown.
Family and friends will be received in the John S. Maykuth, Jr. Funeral Home, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 2 – 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Cottrell officiating. Private interment. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Funeral Home.
