ARTHUR PAUL CASSIDY

Arthur Paul Cassidy, 81, of Masontown, passed away Monday, October 14th, 2024 at his residence.

He was born in Ralph, PA on October 14, 1943, the son of the late John T. and Clara (O’Rourke) Cassidy.

Paul was graduated from All Saints High School, class of 1961 and from California University of Pennsylvania with a Liberal Arts degree. He taught in the Albert Gallatin Area School District for 35 years and was a PIAA Basketball Official for 43 years. Paul was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member and Lector at at All Saints/Saint Francis of Assisi Parish. He served on Masontown Borough Council for 16 years.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bonnie (nee Rhodes); daughters Charlene of Columbia, SC and Jennifer and daughter-in-law Summer of Atlanta, GA; sisters Mary Donato of New Jersey and Margaret (Peggy) Colvard of Uniontown; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, bothers Edward, John, Patrick, George, Robert, Joseph, and Jerome; sisters Claire Caccamo, Regina Kristovich, Kathleen, Martha Sue, and Theresa Cassidy.

The family will receive visitors at the John S. Maykuth Jr Funeral Home, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA on Thursday, October 17, from 2 – 6 p.m. and Friday, October 18, from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Parish, Masontown, PA. The Knights of Columbus will hold Ritualistic Service in the funeral home at 5 p.m. Thursday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Paul’s memory to the German-Masontown Public Library or the Albert Gallatin Education Foundation.
