David A. Berish
September 20, 1955 - April 29, 2026
David A. Berish, 70 of Masontown went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 29, 2026 after a two year battle with cancer. Born on September 20, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert (Bob) Berish Sr. and Betty J. (Connor) Berish.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother William (Bill) J. Berish Sr. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Vicki L. Berish and his daughter Valerie L. Long, her husband Christian M. Long, and two grandsons Davey and Lucas Long. He is also survived by brothers Robert (Bud) M. Berish Jr, Sam Berish (Linda), his sister MaryEllen Bauer (Fred) and many nieces and nephews.
Dave graduated from Albert Gallatin Area Senior Highschool in 1973. He married the love of his life on December 15, 1979. Vicki has been steadfast and unwavering in her love and care for Dave everyday, but especially in the last two years he battled his illness.
Dave was a parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi Church where he was an active member his entire life.
Dave was recognized for many professional accomplishments including; Fayette Board of Realtors ” Realtor of the Year 1999″. He was a licensed real estate broker for over 40 years, a licensed certified broker appraiser, a certified insurance counselor (CIC) for 40 years, and for 25 years the President of Berish Agency, Inc.
Outside of his professional career Dave was a well known civic and community leader. He served as Masontown Borough Council President, President of the Masontown Rotary Club, and Executive Board member of the Fay-Penn Economic Development Council. Dave also served in various advisory roles at All Saints Catholic Church, now Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Dave was a long term member of Pals Club where he served as a trustee.
His time spent at Camp dum dum was always memorable. He enjoyed golfing in various leagues, early morning walks on Browns Run Trail, traveling with Vicki and time with his grandsons.
Dave was a friend to many and will be greatly missed, especially by Vicki and Valerie. Funeral plans are under the direction of John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home.
Friends and Family are most welcome and encouraged to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Masontown, PA at 11:00am on Saturday, May 2, 2026 with internment immediately following at St. Agnes Cemetery.
