Janic Gail Nefflen, 76, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
Janic was born in Masontown, PA on March 13, 1950, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Louise (Rotharmel) Jesso.
She was a graduate of German Township High School, McClellandtown, PA and California State University, California, PA and was employed by Frederick County Board of Education as a 4th Grade Teacher.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Fred Norris Nefflen and sons: Benjamin T. Nefflen and wife Katy Lynn of Chambersburg, PA and Nathaniel Nefflen of Frederick, Maryland and her brothers: Nicholas Jesso of Dale City, Virginia and Timothy Jesso of Apollo Beach, Florida.
Janic was a member of the Citizens Retirement Association and the AAA Association and a former member of the Masontown United Methodist Church.
Family and friends will be received Friday, August 14, 2026 from 1 – 3 p.m. In the John S. Maykuth, Jr. Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Haines officiating. Burial will follow in Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery, Masontown, PA.
