Patsy Carol Hanson, 71, of Masontown, PA  formerly of Gainsville Texas, passed away  July 13, 2026 at her home.

She was born in Gainesville, Texas on February 26, 1955, the daughter of the late Raymond and Carolyn (Shetton) Swofford and predeceased by her sister, Glenda Swofford and grandparents Grady Shelton and Mary Shelton. 

Patsy graduated from Gainsville High School.  She enjoyed reading classical literature and spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her husband  Mark Richard Hanson, daughters Rachel Hanson and Katherine Sweeny; sons, Brian Hanson, Joshua Hanson, Christopher Hanson, Matthew Hanson, Jonathan Hanson and Nathan Hanson and seven grandchildren and sisters: Kathy Sweeney and Phyllis Williams.

A  private service will be held on Thursday, July 16th at the Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, PA. under the direction of the John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home, Masontown, PA.

Charlotte Irene Clark, 83, of McClellandtown, PA. passed away  July 6, 2026 at her home with her loving family at her side.

She was born in McClellandtown, PA on January 12, 1943, the daughter of Charles and Irene (Babyak) Cuppett.

Charlotte was a graduate of German High School and retired from Parker Hannifin of Kent, OH after 35 years of employment.  She was employed as a Factory Worker, operating a molding machine that made O Rings for space ships. Charlotte was very devoted to her church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kevin Clark, brother  Charles "Chuck" Cuppett and his wife Diane.  

Left to cherish her memory are her son(s):  Steven Humberson and wife Alice of McClellandtown, PA., Christopher Humberson of Portland, Tennessee,  James Humberson of Adah, PA., sister Joyce Farrier and husband Bernnie of Carmichaels, PA and brother William "Bill" Cuppett of Adah, PA., five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

The family sends special "Thanks"  to Amedisys Hospice, especially Melissa, Brian and Dez. for the care given to Charlotte.

A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Masontown Mennonite Cemetery.  
Arrangements have been entrusted to John S. Maykuth, Jr. Funeral Home, Masontown, PA.

Michael Andrew Zumerling, III, of Masontown, PA, passed away July 4, 2026 at Beachwood Court,  Uniontown, PA.

He was born in Uniontown, PA on April 15, 1957, the son of the late Michael A. and Irene Ellen (Zembar) Zumerling.

Michael was a graduate of  Albert Gallatin High School and earned a Masters in Business Administration.  He was employed as a Finance Worker for Bayer, Pittsburgh,  PA.

Left to cherish his memory  are his daughter Leslie Wade and husband Michael,his son Michael Zumerling and wife Danielle; grandchildren  Norah, Lydia, Henry, Gianna and Nico; sisters: Kathy Lesnick and husband Judge Robert J. Lesnick and sister Debbie Zumerling and brother Steven Zumerling and wife Patricia.

 Toni Yvonne Reagan, 72, of Masontown, PA, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side on June, 25, 2026.

She was an Albert Gallatin Physical Education teacher for 35 years and enjoyed her retirement by supporting her son's racing career and volunteering at her daughter's gym. Toni enjoyed crafting in her spare time and keeping up with all of her friends and previous students on Facebook.

Toni is survived by Bill, her loving husband of 46 years, her son Patrick Reagan and wife Adrienne Berkland of Savannah, Georgia; daughter Jordyn Reagan and Dan Izzi of Uniontown, PA. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Sadler, and nephews Cole Raymond Sadler and Luke Edward Sadler and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents, John and Ruth Sadler.

Her family would like to thank all of the friends and family for all the cards and calls during her illness.

Friends will be received in the John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home for a private service and viewing for her immediate family.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, PA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.

Margaret Turner Julian, of  Masontown, PA. passed away June 12, 2026, peacefully surrounded by family.

She was born in Mt. Pleasant, PA on July 14, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Novesl. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husbands:  Dominick Julian and Claude Turner; son Stephen Julian and her seven siblings, she was the last living member of her
immediate family.

Margaret was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.  She was a local florist designer who loved traveling, baking, gambling but most of all being surrounded by her family.  

Left to cherish her memory are daughters Janet Julian, Kathy Morris and husband Jim, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Mary's R. C. Church Our Lady of Perpetual Help Leckrone, PA., Parish; Rosary Society, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Masontown, PA.

Thomas E. Thorpe, 81, of Smithfield, PA  passed away May 31, 2026 at Uniontown Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Uniontown, PA on August 21, 1945, the son of the late Edna Vansickle.

Thomas attended Albert Gallatin High School and served in the U.S. Navy as a CSSN during the Vietnam War and earned 
the National Defense Service Medal.  Thomas worked for 19 years and 9 months at Maple Creek Mine.

He is survived by his wife Karen (Betchy) Thorpe, daughters: Karen Schnattery and Marsha Wolfe; sons: Thomas Thorpe 
and David "Chris" Thorpe; 5 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson;  brothers: Ronnie Vansickle

BENJAMIN RICHARD PACKRONI

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Benjamin Richard Packroni, 83, of Masontown, PA . Ben passed on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Uniontown, PA on March 22, 1943, the son of the late Telio and Jeannette (Townsend) Packroni. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by mother and father-in-law, Helen Reagan Miller and James Reagan, sister, Yvonne Packroni, brother-in-law William Reagan and nephew Ronald B Packroni.

Benjamin was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, Class of l961 and attended Salem College in West Virginia.  Benjamin and Richard Egidi, whom he loved as another brother, were co-owners of Ben's Auto Parts, Masontown, PA for 50 years.  He was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, PA. as well as The Italo-American Citizens'. His biggest joys in life were his grandchildren. He also enjoyed numerous trips to South Carolina with his wife and many rounds of golf. The family gives special thanks to Dr. Marcy J. Goisse of Montgomery Medical  for the excellent care given to Ben.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Kathleen Packroni; daughters: Dawn M. Rozzi and husband Anthony; Danette M. Packroni Glad and husband Richard, Colony A. Hopkins and husband Wes; sister Dolores Krosse; brother Ronald G. Packroni and wife Bernadette; sisters-in-law:  Dolores Cornfield , Charmaine Egidi and husband Richard and Nancy Burd; grandsons:  Benjamin T. Rozzi and Parker W. Hopkins; granddaughter Paige K. Hopkins and several dear nieces, nephews and cherished friends as well as his two cats.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 2 to 8 p.m. in the John S. Maykuth, Jr. Funeral Home, Masontown, PA and Thursday, May 14, from 9:30 until 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel the hour of Service with Rev. Charles L. Hopkins, Sr. officiating. Entombment follows in Mt. Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Diabetes Association, Fayette Friends of Animals or a charity of your choice.

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[David A. Berish, 70 of Masontown went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 29, 2026 after a two year battle with cancer. Born on September 20, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert (Bob) Berish Sr. and Betty J. (Connor) Berish.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother William (Bill) J. Berish Sr. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Vicki L. Berish and his daughter Valerie L. Long, her husband Christian M. Long, and two grandsons Davey and Lucas Long. He is also survived by brothers Robert (Bud) M. Berish Jr, Sam Berish (Linda), his sister MaryEllen Bauer (Fred) and many nieces and nephews.
Dave graduated from Albert Gallatin Area Senior Highschool in 1973. He married the love of his life on December 15, 1979. Vicki has been steadfast and unwavering in her love and care for Dave everyday, but especially in the last two years he battled his illness.
Dave was a parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi Church where he was an active member his entire life.
Dave was recognized for many professional accomplishments including; Fayette Board of Realtors " Realtor of the Year 1999". He was a licensed real estate broker for over 40 years, a licensed  certified broker appraiser, a certified insurance counselor (CIC) for 40 years, and for 25 years the President of Berish Agency, Inc.
Outside of his professional career Dave was a well known civic and community leader. He served as Masontown Borough Council President, President of the Masontown Rotary Club, and Executive Board member of the Fay-Penn Economic Development Council. Dave also served in various advisory roles at All Saints Catholic Church, now Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Dave was a long term member of Pals Club where he served as a trustee.
His time spent at Camp dum dum was always memorable. He enjoyed golfing in various leagues, early morning walks on Browns Run Trail, traveling with Vicki and time with his grandsons.
Dave was a friend to many and will be greatly missed, especially by Vicki and Valerie. Funeral plans are under the direction of John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home.
Friends and Family are most welcome and encouraged to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Masontown, PA at 11:00am  on Saturday, May 2, 2026 with internment immediately following at St. Agnes Cemetery.

Mary A. Forgen, 66, of Carmichaels, PA., passed away April 23, 2026 at Washington Hospital,  PA.

She was born in Waynesburg, PA. on August 5, 1959, the daughter of the late Daniel Charles and Leona Gallan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Lillian (Paulette) Seaman; brother-in-laws: Warren Morris, II and Clinton Forgen; father-in-law Chester Forgen and mother-in-law Betty Forgen.

 Mary attended Albert Gallatin High School and was employed as a Cashier before retiring. She was a life time member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, PA.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Peter J. Forgen, Sr., son Matthew Forgen; stepson Peter J. Frederick Michael "Buzzy" Bartock, 67, of Smithfield, PA. passed away suddenly on April 7, 2026 at
home with his loving wife, of 30 years, Brenda at his side. He was born in Uniontown, PA on June
16, 1958.
Before retiring, Buzzy was employed as a Coal Miner for 32 years. He was a member of UMWA and
Teamsters Union Local #491 Uniontown, PA.
Buzzy was a star athlete at Laurel Highlands Senior High School. His number on the football team
was #61, he was also voted team captain. In 1976 he was named to the All-County Football Team
and the WPIAL AAA All Star Football Team. One of Buzzy’s most memorable experiences during his
football career was he had the extreme pleasure of playing against Joe Montana. Along with his
football career he lettered in the following sports: Track &amp; Field and Basketball. In the summers, he
played Baseball for Continental #2, Uniontown PA.
Buzzy enjoyed many different things: Hunting, Fishing, &amp; being an avid Steelers Football Fan. Most
of all he enjoyed spending his time with his loving wife and beautiful great granddaughter Aspen.
Predeceased in death by his father Joseph F. and his mother Viola (Carbonara) Bartock, and his
brother Joseph Bartock.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Brenda (Barton) Bartock; Sisters: RoseAnn (John)
Sloboda; Patty (Paul) Thomas; Caroline (Rennie) Heavener; Brother Michael (Susan) Bartock;
Special sister-in-law Linda (Vignali) Bartock; Step Children: Loribeth Stewart, Danielle (Brendon)
Steele, Dennis Ferree (Buzzy was his dedicated caretaker); Grandchildren: Maeanna Cooley

Shirley was a graduate of Masontown High School and for over 34 years was employed as an Assistant Librarian at German-Masontown Public Library and for several years at Gateway Manufacturing and Masontown Elementary School as a Teacher's Aide. Shirley enjoyed cooking, baking and watching game shows.  She was a lifetime member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, PA. 

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John S. Renaldi, son Paul Renaldi, brothers Panny Wroble and Junior Wroble and sister Rita Bealko.

Left  to cherish her memory are her son John A. Renaldi, grandchildren Robbie Renaldi and Gianna Renaldi, great grandchild Bella Renaldi, several nieces and nephews and her special cat "Gypsy".

Patrick James “Jim” Peavornick, 80, of Masontown, PA, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home.

He was born in Bellevue, PA, on February 13,1946, the son of the late Joseph and Ceil (Smearcheck) Peavornick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Patrick Logan; sister-in-law Marie Grant and her husband John; and sister-in-law Judy Gordon.

After graduating from high school, Jim attended California University and later worked as a Sales Representative for Rocko Oil Company. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, Third Marine Division, as a Radio Operator during the Vietnam Era, earning two Purple Hearts. Jim was a dedicated member of the Masontown Volunteer Fire Department, serving as both a Trustee and a firefighter for more than 50 years. He was also a member of the VFW. Jim had a deep love for fishing and cherished his time spent at the Outer Banks.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Judith (Gordon) Peavornick; his daughters, Erin Prosser and husband Edwin of Pittsburgh, PA, and Heather Geho and husband Ryan of Charleston, South Carolina; his sister, Patricia Langley and husband Larry of North Carolina; brother-in-law Mike Gordon and partner Debbie; brother-in-law Sam Gordon and wife Debi; many friends; and his beloved dog, “Buddy.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masontown Volunteer Fire Department or the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

Family and friends will be received at the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA, on Tuesday, March 17, from 4–8 p.m. The Masontown Volunteer Fire Department will hold services at 6 p.m., followed by services by VFW Post 4584 and American Legion Post 423 at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until noon, the hour of service, in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.

STEPHEN LOUIS SKALA

Stephen Louis Skala, 82, of  McClellandtown, PA passed away  March 7, 2026 at his residence. 

He was born in High House, PA. on August 29, 1943, the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Provaznik) Skala.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers and sisters: Paul,  Ann, Andrew, Johnny, Lou, Margaret, Pauline, Joe, Marchie and Ralph. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by an abundant  number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Stephen served in the U.S. Army as a SGT in the Vietnam War and earned the following medals: National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Vietnam Service Medal and 1 O/S Bar.  Before retiring he was employed as a Metal Fabricator at Fruehauf Uniontown, PA and spent his life devoted to his farm and horsemanship.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Masontown, PA and former member of St. Mary's Church, Leckrone, PA. and a member of American Legion Post 423.

Friends will be received in the John S. Maykuth, Jr. Funeral Home, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA on  Wednesday, March 11th  from 2-7 p.m. and Thursday 9:30 a,m.  Prayers of Transfer will be held,  followed by  Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Masontown, PA.  Military Rites will be accorded at the funeral home by Masontown American Legion Post 423 and the Masontown VFW Post 4584 on Wednesday March 11th at 6 p.m.

Private Interment .

Robert Thomas Haragos, 66, of  Masontown, Pa passed away at February 25th, 2026 at  his home.

He was born in Uniontown, PA on July 30, 1959  the son of the late Stanley and Emma Jean (Martinosky) Haragos.  Robert graduated from Laurel Highland High School and was employed as a Supervisor at WalMart before retiring. Robert enjoyed fishing and watching the (Bucos) Pittsburgh Pirates.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Stanley Haragos and Steven Haragos, and 
sister Sandra Haragos.  He is survived by his son Robert John Haragos of Punta Gorda, FL,  sister-in-law Janet Haragos of Masontown, nephews: Bryan Haragos of Masontown, Kristopher Hargagos of Smithfield, nieces: Cassandra Clark of Masontown and Ashley Haney of Morgantown, WV and several great nieces and  nephews.

He was employed as a banker at Gallatin Bank, Uniontown, PA.  John was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Masontown, PA , The Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Member and Masontown Rotary Club.

PATRICIA F. (HORNE) FAGAN KAMAUF

Patricia F. (Horne) Fagan Kamauf, 84, of Oxford, Michigan formerly of Masontown, PA passed away at Independence Village, Oxford, Michigan on February 7, 2026 with her daughters Sherry and Kim by her side.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beautiful Mother, Patricia.
Mom was the heart of our family.  She loved us endlessly and made sure we always felt it - 
through her words, her actions, and the way she showed up for everyone she loved.  Her grandchildren & great grandchildren were her pure joy; she adored them beyond measure and took such pride in each of them.  Mom was kind & genuinely caring, with a feisty spirit. She had unwavering strength that stayed with her through her entire life.  She was deeply loved by all who knew her, and her warmth, laughter, and love will live in us forever.  

She was born in  Uniontown, PA. on September 16, 1941, the daughter of the late William Horne and Edna (Marks) Beck/Horne.  In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Jerry Fagan, second husband Richard Kamauf and daughter Terry Lynn Fagan.  

After graduating from Masontown High School, she was employed as a secretary at John F. Slater Funeral Home in Pittsburgh, PA. 

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Sherry Sherby and husband Steve of Oxford, MI and Kimberly Frazier of Coraopolis, PA. grandchildren: Patrick and wife Andrea, Robbie, Kristen and husband Manuel and Katlyn; great grandchildren:  Ethan, Nelo, Roni, Rae, Jerry, Paislee.
Trenten and Garrett and many nieces and nephews.

DOLORES JEAN SANTELLA

Dolores Jean Santella, 96, of Masontown, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 peacefully  at home.

She was born in Masontown, PA. on February 15, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Lucy (Cassano) Cerullo.

She was predeceased by her husband William D. "Bill" Santella and brothers Richard Cerullo and   Robert Cerullo, and sister Carol Cerullo DelGrosso. Dolores was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter  Lisa Santella of Masontown, PA. and her son Dennis W. Santella and wife Michele of Masontown, PA. Loving grandchildren: Craig and wife Andrea Santella of Coraopolis, PA.,  Alex  and  wife Chelsee Santella of Washington, PA. precious great-grandsons: Geno and William Santella, several nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law John DelGrosso of Masontown, PA.
 
Dolores was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Masontown, PA. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, and flower gardening.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Breast Cancer, Leukemia Societies and St. Francis of Assisi Church.

The family sends special thanks to Amedisys Hospice Staff who took care of Dolores. 

Family and friends will be received in the John S. Maykuth Jr. Funeral Home, Tuesday, February 3rd, from 2-7 p.m. and Wednesday February 4th, from 10-11 a.m. the hour of service in the funeral home chapel with Father Anthony Klimko officiating.

Interment at St. Agnes Cemetery .
