He attended and supported all his grandchildren’s activities and special events.

Chester “Lee” Fitzwater, of Ronco, PA, passed away on November 21, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Lee was the devoted husband of Veronica Fitzwater, and a proud father to Sherry Fitzwater and Erica Fitzwater. He was the loving grandfather of Brittany Fitzwater and Amber Valencheck, and great-grandfather to Chase, Gage, Maverick, and Freya — a crew he absolutely adored, and who lived under a strict “no rules at Pap’s house” policy. His dogs, Oreo and Finn, were his shadows.

Chester is survived by many extended family members and friends, along with his sisters Helen Krichbaum, Kristle Krichbaum, and Devon (Cooley) Krichbaum.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Richard Krichbaum, and his brothers, Raymond and Curtis Krichbaum.

In his younger years, Chester was wild and bold. He “borrowed” his dad’s vehicles he wasn’t exactly cleared to take, and even raced cars for titles — and usually won. He met Veronica when they were teenagers, and the two have been together ever since.

Chester spent years behind the wheel driving truck, working hard to take care of the people he loved. He was feisty, funny, and stubborn in the most impressive ways — the kind of man who lived exactly how he wanted, and never apologized for it.

Per his wishes, there will be no viewing. Chester will be cremated at Maykuth’s Funeral Home in Masontown. A Celebration of Life will be held this spring, where family and friends will gather to tell stories, laugh, cry, and lovingly roll their eyes at the memories of a man who was unforgettable in every sense.

He will be deeply missed, fiercely remembered, and forever loved.
